About primary and secondary school Studánka

The Primary and Secondary School Pardubice - Studánka was founded in 1963. In the Pardubice district, our school complex, which is surrounded by a park about 3.2 ha, is unique thanks to its full access for disabled.

Currently, our school provides compulsory school education to six hundred and thirty three children aged between six and fifteen years from the first to the ninth grade. There are twenty five classes with twenty five children on average in each class. From the total number of sixty staff members employed by the school, there are thirty six highly qualified teachers.

Beside multi-purpose classrooms, the school has not only science, chemistry, physics, music, and art and craft rooms, but also computer, and language labs, a design and technology room, a home economics room and a winter garden.

Moreover, among other facilities that benefit students belong a sports hall, a gym, a gymnastic hall, an outdoor playground, a school garden and field, and a pottery room. In addition, an after school club and a canteen are available for the students.

On top of that, a wide range of extra-curricular activities is arranged for all children after normal school hours - a school library with almost five thousand books, which is opened every afternoon, about thirty school clubs (such as arts, sports, music, computers etc.). As many others, English clubs are already offered from the first grade, although as a compulsory subject, a foreign language (English) is taught from the forth grade. Our school is further engaged in areas such as environmental studies and physical education (P.E. classes primarily focused on basketball).

At the present time, twelve physically disabled children are integrated in the regular classes; from this number five pupils need the support of a teacher assistant. Our school also educates children with hearing and visual impairment, one autistic, and many other pupils diagnosed with learning disabilities. All these children are provided with individual study plans and special attention is paid to them by specially trained teachers.

School education is complemented by other activities such as:

During the school year, our school takes part in activities in a close collaboration with other schools and general public in the Pardubice district:

Organization of some of the school activities is in the hands of The School Board, where students from the fifth to the ninth grade are also among the nominated. The Board cooperate with the school management and also meet The Friends of School in order to find solutions to hot issues and to discuss upcoming events.
